Massage therapy treatment has a therapeutic effect on the body and optimizes health and well-being by acting on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems. Therapeutic massage can have numerous positive effects on the body improving circulation of blood and lymph, decrease pain and inflammation, improve mobility and stress reduction.
Massage Therapists use their knowledge of anatomy and physiology to treat a number of conditions including strains and sprains, back pain, headaches and tension.
Massage is generally considered part of complementary and integrative medicine. It's increasingly being offered along with standard treatment for a wide range of medical conditions.
